Personal introduction

We live in Braintree, Essex. I am 34 years old and have been a Police Officer for 11 years. I enjoy a night in with the girls, with a good movie and takeaway food! I also enjoy attending a fitness class (on mini trampolines) each week. My partner, Neil, is 38 years old. He has worked for the Police for 14 years. He is a big Liverpool FC fan. My daughter, Emma, is 7 years old. She is in Year 3 at Primary School. She is a happy, creative child who loves to be outdoors whatever the weather! She loves reading books and baking! She regularly attends Dance Classes and Brownies, and will be starting gymnastics classes soon. My son, Danny, is 6 years old. He is in Year 1 at Primary School. He loves the outdoors, riding his bike and playing football. He has recently joined a local football team and trains every week. I also have an older son, almost 16 years old, but he lives with his dad (who is also father to my younger two). We have 4 cats. 2 girls and 2 boy. The 2 girls, Fudge and Dooley, like to be indoors and around people, sleeping wherever looks comfortable. One boy, Monty, is very much an outdoor cat, who likes only to come home for food and if it is very cold outside. Buddy, is the youngest cat we have. He is very playful and rather cheeky. We are a fun loving family who enjoy doing things together whenever we can. We eat a lot of chicken, pasta & potatoes, but also enjoy trying new foods.

The Au pair's job

We would like an Au Pair to become a part of our family and help care for the children, allowing us to work our various shifts. As part of the family, you would be expected to help maintain a clean and tidy house, including ironing and keeping the children's bedroom clean and tidy. Walking the children to/from school would be required, along with preparing packed lunches for school, and some evening meals. We need a strong person who is confident and able to deal with two young energetic children. You must be full of energy when needed. We need someone who is clean, tidy and organised, and who can use their initiative to do things without being told all the time. A good sense of humour is essential! We need someone who is able to make their own decisions, and be self-sufficient. In return we can offer a friendly and welcoming home. We live in a great location with good transport links available. London is just 1 hour away by train. Stansted Airport is just a 15 minute drive away. We currently have an au pair with us, who is looking to return home in the next couple of months. There are quite a few au pairs in the area, so an opportunity to make new friends from around the world, and explore the local area together.
