Personal introduction

Hello dear Aupair! We are a nice family of 4. We are based in Surbiton (South West London) a lovely town 20mn from London Waterloo station by train, on River Thames. Lot of families living there with parents working in central London. Lot of aupairs and students. Socialising and making friends from various countries will be easy during your free time. Kingston is 15 minutes walk from home, with many shops, restaurants and bars. Beautiful parks around, and a fantastic cycling route along River Thames. (You can find a very good description of the area with pictures and videos on Kingston University website, in the International Students section, Why Choose Kingston, One of the happiest place). We live in a modern house, 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. You will have your own bedroom with a king size bed on the top floor, and you will share the bathroom with the children. We are a lovely multicultural family: Olivier is French, Alessia is French and Russian. We have a boy aged 4 and a girl aged 8. They attend an independant English school which is 5mn walk from home. We speak all three languages at home, and we will speak English with you (unless you wish to practice French or Russian, which is perfectly fine). We eat mainly healthy French and Russian cuisine. You are welcome to share with us specialties from your country. Olivier likes playing tennis, skiing, sailing Hobie Cat, mainly during holidays. Alessia is regularly running, going to the gym and cycling. She is part of the school choir and is practicing piano. Now that Denis will be full time at school, Alessia will

The Au pair's job

Whilst many aupairs refer to themselves as big sisters, we would prefer you consider yourself as a young auntie: an autonomous and responsible adult, family member, fully in charge when you are with the children, who can share lot of good time with the family. You should take care of the children from Monday to Friday after school (usually from 4pm) and until they go to bed. This includes outdoor activities on the playground or in our garden, supervising homeworks & piano lessons (you do not have to play music, but would be great if you do), diner, bath/shower, story telling in English (we will do French and Russian). You should make sure the children bedrooms are tidy, beds done, and kitchen is clean after their diner. You may also assist us with light household chores (not cleaning/ironing). This is roughly 25 hours a week. Your pocket money will be above the Aupairworld recommendation. Whilst the children are on holiday at home, you will accompany them to their holiday clubs and pick them up. If exceptionnally it would imply a full time commitment, we would give you extra pocket money for that. You are most welcome to join us during weekend or holiday trips, in England or abroad. Alessia will support you most of the time. We could occasionally ask you to do some evening babysitting. We therefore expect you to be active, caring, good education level to support the children in their studies, and to entertain them at home and in the parks around. We hope you find our profile motivating and we look forward to talking to you, Kind regards, Alessia & Olivier
