We are a friendly, welcoming family of three; which comprises of my husband James, our 1 year old daughter Aurora (who will be two by the time we hope you can start) and myself. Both my husband and I work full time (Mon - Fri). Our current nanny will be leaving us after 16 happy months and we hope to welcome a new au pair in to the family at the beginning of June 17. Ideally, we are looking for someone who wants to remain with us until at least Sep 18. We live in the village of Bulford, approx 15 km from both the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury and the town of Andover. We live about 1 hour from Southampton, and 1.5hrs from London (on a train). Bulford has a swimming pool, gym and local shops. The neighbouring town of Amesbury (4km away) has more shops etc. We live in a large 3 bedroom house with a good sized garden in a safe and friendly area. At the weekend, we enjoy quality family time, doing activities such as walking, swimming, visiting historical places, arts and crafts and playing together or with friends. We are an active family who all eat a balanced diet. Our daughter is healthy and happy with lots of energy! Auroras language is developing quickly, as is her interest in the outdoors, crafts, music and books. We believe that a routine and structure is important for children. Our daughter is a good sleeper, generally waking around 8am and in bed by 730pm. Our au pair will have her own bedroom with TV, Sky Go and Wi-Fi. We respect privacy and do not enter our au pair's bedroom.
We are looking for a mature, responsible and energetic au pair. Most importantly is that our au pair loves working with children, and is patient and caring. Between Monday - Friday, you will be responsible for feeding Aurora breakfast in the morning and taking her to either nursery two days a week and then a class or play date the remaining three, feeding lunch and keeping our little girl happy looking after her/playing with her until we return home from work (normally around 6pm). Unless otherwise agreed, weekends will be your own. We would like an au pair whose English is of a good standard. You will need to be able to read to Aurora, and help her learn to read and write as she gets slightly older. We would like our au pair to teach a little bit of her native language to Aurora. We also need an au pair who can drive, and being able to swim is also an advantage (but not essential). Previous experience looking after small children is important, but you do not have to have prior experience as an au pair. We are looking for someone who wants to integrate into the family. Equally, we hope to find someone who wants to make her own friends (there are lots of au pairs in the area) and happy to pursue her own interests. We would prefer an au pair who is happy to spend time independently or with friends at the weekends. I've tried to provide lots of information to help you decide whether we are the type of family you would like to work for and live with. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
