Who we are: 1. We are in our mid thirties/early forties. 2. We have one daughter aged 3 ½ and a son aged 18 months. 3. My husband is a privately educated property consultant from a well-known family of architects in the county. He plays piano and many sports. 4. I have a law degree from Paris and UK, and speak French and English fluently. My family lives in France and my father was a well respected surgeon. I am a qualified school teacher and have lived and worked in France, Denmark and London. I am a keen swimmer and practice yoga. As a paid hobby, I also give ayurvedic massages (which I studied in India) in London. 5. We are both very enthusiastic about the arts, literature, sport, music. 6. We have travelled extensively throughout the world (to over 80 countries) including expeditions in Antarctica, Easter Island, Galapagos Island, India, China, Mongolia etc, and we have climbed Mount Kenya and the base camps of Anapurna. 7. We collect antiques, art work and sculpture from our travels and have a great interest in music and the arts. We hope our au pair will show a willingness to enjoy and/or learn and share these with us and our children. 8. We are fairly experienced with children. My husband has 10 nephews and nieces and (as I say) I worked as a teacher for 6 years. 9. We have also had 3 au pairs before so we know exactly what we require and how best to integrate an au pair into our lives. Where we live: 1. We live in a 5 bedroom 6 bathroom detached house directly on the river Arun in a town called Arundel. It is 400sqm. 2. Arundel is a medieval market town
What we are looking for the best spanish au pair available! 1. Au pair working around 35 to 40 hours per week 2. Ability to undertake all aspects of child care including: play time, basics teaching, preparing meals, clothing child, bathing child etc. 3. Ability to undertake useful “light” household tasks such as helping prepare meals, emptying dishwasher, loading and unloading washing machine & folding laundry, ironing, washing up and drying up, watering plants. NB: we have a cleaner who undertakes “heavy” housework such as cleaning bathroom and kitchen once per week and hoovering/dusting the house throughout. 4. Driving is not necessary 5. First aid knowledge or ability to learn would be useful. 6. Knowledge or ability to learn children's educational ideas and to follow the school's curriculum would be useful. 7. Fun, outdoor loving, keen on travel, keen and enthusiastic to learn and discover new ideas, flexible on times and last minute changes. Hours of work: 1. We would ideally like someone to get up with our children in the morning around 6.30am, give them breakfast and get them ready for school. 2. We then take them to nursery around 8.15am. From Mondays to Fridays: school for our daughter between 8.15am and 4pm; our son is at the childminder Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays: childminder between 8.15am and 5.30p; saturdays & Sundays: home 3. When they return around 5.30pm they like to play in the local park and visit the lake with birds etc or in our garden. In winter we will need to find indoor activities such as music/dancing/painting/reading. 4. At 5pm they have their dinner (except Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for our son when he has dinner at the childminder) and then have a bath before bed at 7pm for our son and 7.30pm for our daughter. 5. Most of the time we will be around to do the visit to the park/play in the garden and dinner and/or the bath but sometimes we will not be. But you can take the opportunity to do some cooking or washing on the occasions when my husband or I do the bath and dinner. 6. So on Tuesdays and Thursdays we will need about 3h30 of help daily (Wednesdays will be off as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8.30am and 5.30pm when children are at school). 7. On Mondays and Fridays we will need about 9 hours daily. 8. On Saturdays and Sundays we will need about 8 hours per day. Ideally 8.30am-1.30pm and then 4pm-7pm. 9. If our au pair wishes to go to London for the day for example we are happy to amend the hours.
