Personal introduction

** We have found it works best for everyone to meet first so we are ideally looking for people already living in London or can travel easily to meet us ** My name is Clare and we are looking for a live-in au pair to look after our two lovely daughters starting as soon as possible for 1 year (or more if you want to stay longer). There are four of us in our loving and friendly family: • Me, aged 46 (mother) • Toby, aged 43 (husband & father) • Sadie, aged 12 (daughter) • Lottie, aged 10 (daughter) Our first daughter called Sadie was born in 2004, and our second daughter called Lottie was born in 2006. They are the most important people in our lives and we love them more than anything. They are really lovely girls, pretty, intelligent, very polite and very well behaved. We are very proud of them. We also have 3 cats. Two lovely Burmese cats called Mia and Felix who are very affectionate and funny. Plus Chester who is a rescue cat, although we don’t see him very much as he spends most of his time outside and usually only comes inside for food! We live in an area of south-west London called Southfields, near the famous Wimbledon tennis courts. This is a lovely friendly and family-orientated part of London. We’ve been living in this area since 1999 and will probably stay here forever as we love it so much. We have a lovely house with a large garden on a quiet road very close to the Southfields underground train station. The station is very convenient for travelling all over London with regular direct trains into central London. We also have a excellent bus services, and

The Au pair's job

We are looking for a long-term live-in au pair to start as soon as possible for 1 year (or more if you want to stay longer). My husband and I work full-time so you will help look after our two daughters during Monday-Friday while we are at work. Most of the time the children are at school, except during school holidays. When they are at school you will be looking after them from 7:30-9am until they go to school, then again when they come back from school around 3:30pm until the evening when we return from work. During school holidays you will also look after them during the daytime, however most of the days they are at school. During Monday-Friday you will have your own free time from 9am to 3:30pm when the girls are at school and most evenings, and also you are free all day Saturday and Sunday (plus UK public holidays) as we enjoy looking after the children on these days, however you are welcome to join our family activities too. Sometimes my husband and I travel and have work commitments during the week, so we will need you to look after the girls occasionally on Monday-Friday evenings, maybe 1-2 times per week. At the weekends we love to spend time with the girls and would not expect you to work, although we may ask you to look after the girls occasionally for an evening during the weekend if Toby and I have social arrangements, however this is not often. All these evenings are planned ahead of time with you. As Toby and I sometimes travel for work, we would like you to live-in at our house. You will have your own separate bedroom with a big double-bed, wardrobes, etc. The house has super-fast internet and we will provide you with an iPad so that you can Skype and keep in touch with your family and friends, watch movies, etc. Your main responsibilities will be: • Getting the children ready for school each morning • Taking Lottie to school and picking her up in the afternoon (Sadie goes to school herself) • Preparing healthy meals for the girls when they return home from school • Entertaining the girls during the day when they have school holidays or if they are unwell and cannot attend school • Organising play dates with their friends after school • Washing/laundry for the family once per week (no ironing) • And most importantly, playing with the girls and having fun with games, fashion, makeup, hair, movies, etc! You do not need to do house cleaning as we have a cleaner that comes to the house every week. You also do not need to drive, as everything is in walking distance. We are looking for someone who: • Speaks reasonable level English language – it’s important you can talk to the girls • Reliable – time-keeping is very important • Honest & trustful – it’s very important we can trust the person, we have a no-lies rule in our home • Organised – we have a lively and busy house, so it’s very important things don’t get forgotten • Responsible – you will be looking after our two most precious things so we need to feel they are safe and secure • Cooking – someone that likes to cook and can make some recipes, healthy eating is important to us. • Fun – we want you to be a fun big sister for Sadie and Lottie!
