We are a busy family with mum and dad working full-time and the kids doing various activities most evenings. We have have a boy of seven called Theo. He is energetic, creative and into animals and the outdoors. He will starting year three in September, so will have a bit of homework after school. He does various classes such as piano and Beavers (a bit like Scouts). His sister Kitty is six. She is in year one at the same school as Theo. She is growing in confidence and likes to play with her dolls and in the garden. We are looking for a young lady to join our family from early August 2017. It is essential that you can drive and we will pay a bonus of £50 at Christmas and £100 if you complete the contract and leave at the agreed time. We pay £100 per week (or £130 including additional house hold jobs) plus £7.50 monthly mobile phone top-up. Wi-fi and personal use of our car (local journeys) is included. We live in South London (zone six) which is easy to get into Central London by train. The area we live in is very quiet and safe. Staying with us would give you a great opportunity to explore London as you will have plenty of time off. You will have a very comfortable living space (yours is the biggest bedroom in the house). We have had experiences of having an au-pair before. We are sorry to see our current au-pair's contract coming to an end as we are very fond of her. She is available to give a reference to support that
During the week you would be expected to get the children ready for school (breakfast, getting dressed) and drop them to school. You will need to be fairly confident at driving, although we will show you the places you need to drive to and help you get used to driving in England. You will have the day free to join any English classes. We have helped our previous au-pair to register for classes and supported her funding application which meant she had four hours per week of tuition for free. You would collect them from school at 3pm, take them to various activities, bring them home and cook their dinner (and something for mum and dad) and finish work at 7.30pm. We would like you to babysit for two weekday evenings (ideally Tuesday and Thursday) and one weekend night. We are fairly flexible about this, if you have friends visiting or want to do a weekend trip we can swap things about. Housework duties are: keeping kitchen tidy, preparing meals, making children's beds, washing and ironing children's clothes. once a week mop kitchen and hoover house. Additional £30 paid if you want to earn more - to clean bathrooms, do parents ironing and change parents bed. We are a fairly tidy household and out and about a lot. We would therefore expect you to make friends and find your own interests. Our current au-pair has joined a local gym and there are several au-pairs in our children's classes who you would also get to know.
