Personal introduction

I am a full time working Mum, I work as an HR Manager in a large global organisation, and I'm married to Reid, who is an IT Manager and also works full time. We have 3 fantastic boys, all with different personalities and hobbies - Reid and I are also quite active - I love the gym, going to the movies, theatre or out for a nice meal. Reid loves football, running, playing with the boys and he is also a bit of an X Box fanatic! We live in a large 5 bedroom detached townhouse in Oxley Park, Milton Keynes. It's 5 minutes from the town centre, but backs onto beautiful woods and farmland, so it really does suit all tastes. Jack is our youngest, he is 6 and is great fun. He is a chatterbox, very inquisitive about the world about him and asks a million and one questions a day. He loves to read, draw, play football, badminton and tennis and he basically just loves the company of others. Brooke is with us every other week - he is my husbands son and is a very clever, fun, loving young man. He is 11 and just about to start secondary school - he loves to play football, his X Box, read and he also loves swimming. Peter is my eldest son, also 11, and is great fun. He has autism so his communication and understanding is affected. He is a very talented drawer, Lego builder and problem solver. He loves watching DVDs and drawing all the scenes, and he also loves swimming, going to the cinema and trampolining. We are looking for someone who is fun loving, energetic, caring, patient, but also someone who is able to keep 3 energetic young boys occupied, organised and most importantly happy whil

The Au pair's job

We are looking for help in the morning with the school run as Reid and I will be leaving for work early. This will involve getting the children ready for school, breakfast and then driving Jack and Peter to school. It's 2 minutes drive from our house, so very close. Brooke will be cycling to school in the weeks he is with us. We would expect some light housework to be done during the school day, tidying the boys rooms, their laundry. They will need picking up after school and helping with their homework and reading and making their tea. Typically they will need encouraging to do their homework, it takes a bit of skill and creativity to motivate children to do their homework. Maybe a reward chart or something like that would be a good idea? Peter particularly is very visual and he is used to picture schedules to help him understand what he is expected to do and what he is working for. You would be free during most of the school day, and weekends. We would expect babysitting one night a week too, so Reid and I can unwind and go out for a meal or theatre. When we go out as a family you would of course be very welcome to join us - you would be 100% part of our family.
