We are a friendly family of four living in St Albans, Hertfordshire. We have two energetic boys who are full of fun. Lucas is 8 this summer and Zach is 5 (he will be 6 in August). They are both typical boys who love being outside running around, cycling, climbing, playing football, and going on adventures. They also love playing computer games and movie time. Lucas is sensitive and shy while Zach is outgoing and loving. My husband and I both work full time and the boys both go to the same school which is a short drive away (10 mins). We both work from home 1 day a week so that we can do school drop offs and pick ups. We love to go on holidays and weekends away but we also enjoy just being at home and relaxing at weekends. We are looking for a warm and friendly au pair to join our family over the summer to help look after our boys while they are off school on summer holidays. We are flexible about how long you stay. This would be our first au pair so we are looking for someone for 2-3 months over the summer but if it works out well for both of us we'd be happy to consider extending it. We live in a large vibrant town called St Albans which has lots of shops and restaurants as well as a Cathedral and a some lovely parks. It is a 20 minute train ride into Central London and is also well connected to airports. There are lots of au pairs in St Albans so it would be possible for you to meet up and make friends with them. We would like an au pair to join us for the summer to help us manage the school summer holidays. It would involve making sure the boys are occupied during the day by either taking them out places, organising playdates with their friends or thinking of fun activities to do at home. We don't want them lying around in their pyjamas all day playing computer games (which they would be very happy to do). We will also send them to summer clubs occasionally so you would only have to drop them off and pick them up on those days. We need someone who will be fun and energetic and get them organised, dressed, give them meals, snacks, make sure they have everything they need throughout the day. We also want you to care for them and for them to feel safe and secure with you. We cannot allow smokers. We will provide a car but would prefer you to have a few years driving experience. We would like a little babysitting, e.g. 1-2 nights per week (not every week) but this would be flexible. We have a cleaner who comes in once a week but we would also need you to help out with light cleaning and housework throughout the week just to keep on top of things. We want you to feel very comfortable and will provide a lovely spacious room at the top of the house with wifi and a TV if you want it. Weekends will be free unless you've agreed to babysit in the evening. You will have free time so it is ideal if you are independent and organised, because you can develop outside interests and friends.
