We are a kind, quiet, easy going family that live in a lovely, safe town near London called St Albans. Where we live are lots of restaurants/shops and facilities - it's very easy to get around and has a great community. I work in design and marketing and my husband works in music publishing and we both work full time - which is why we need a bit of help! Typical tasks would be about an hour's housework a day - we will have a cleaner so no deep cleaning and we keep our room and bathroom clean ourselves anyuway, but tidying up the house a bit, hoovering the carpet, emptying the dishwasher, tidying the kids room. That sort of thing, and laundry. Our current au pair confirms it's really not more than an hour. The mornings are free every day until 3.15 - so unless it's school holidays when we will need a lot more help, it's pretty easy and relaxing. After you pick up the kids and take them to and from their activities then we would need some help preparing their dinner - we cook 3 nights a week at the week end and one night week days - so only 4 nights. Don't worry if you're not an amazing cook....we have some simple recipes. This is a great job for someone who would like to learn English or study while working for us - there is a language school fairly close and would suit someone who wanted to have a second job in a coffee shop/restaurant - our current au pair does this and it keeps her busy. We would also need some occasional babysitting - say 2 /3 times a month - not always at week ends - we are pretty quiet so not out all the time.
