Dear Future Au Pair, We are looking for a new Au Pair to come and join our family of 5 for a minimum of 6 months. Our family consists of Gary, Helen, Brooke - 8, Joshua - 5 and Jacob - 3. We are a young family, who work hard and like to spend time together. We are a smoking family but smoking in the home is strictly forbidden you may smoke outside if you smoke. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and reliable, who would like to be a part of our family.
Timings for school (until July) Brooke and Joshua arrive at 0830am and picked up at 3.00pm, mon-fri but Wednesdays is a later pick up time 1600pm. Jacob attends school 0845am – 1445pm Monday & Wednesday 0845am-1145am Fridays. All three children will be attending the same school from September and therefore your working hours will reduce from September. Occasional Evening and weekend work would be required, but generally most evenings and weekends will be your free time. There will be plenty of time for holiday as between Gary and I we have 8 weeks of annual leave, and leave must be agreed 4 weeks in advance. We would like it if the au pair ate with us, and interacted with the family after the working hours. We also do not mind if the au pair was to go out in the evenings and weekends to explore England. There is a potential to earn more money by helping the next door neighbour with their children with school runs and after school care form September 2016. I would like it if the au pair could help with the home work after school but this is not necessary. We would prefer someone who has had experience with children wither family and or summer clubs. We would like references from and experience of working with children, please translate into English as best as you can. We also expect to see some identification of the au pair. We have a routine with the children but we are open to changing this as we would like you to be able to set your rules and boundaries as they will see you mostly during the week, but this would be done once the new au pair is here. We are now looking as an urgent request due to our current Au pair having to leave due to new work commits back in his home country we are now looking for the last week of May 1st week of June. We have Cat called Mayo, so the next au pair must like animals. We would expect 4 weeks’ notice, of holiday, or ending of contract, thus allowing time to find other arrangements. Your room is a single room with a bed, drawers and wardrobe; you will have your own TV with satellite if wanted and access to Wi-Fi. You will not have your own bathroom and will have to share with family. When the children are not at school for half term and summer holidays we would expect you to find activities for them to do, playing in the garden, painting, games, reading etc. We would expect help with the upkeep of the house, we wouldn’t expect you to scrub the whole house but just ensure the mess the children have left is cleaned up. We would expect you to clean your washing and on occasion the children’s. There may be some occasions where you may be required to cook, but this will not be very often. We expect the Au Pair to pay for their travel here and for holidays and we will pay for their return flight. We are able to pick you up from any London airport or Andover and Salisbury train station.
