Dear Au pair, We are a French family living in central London since last summer. We have 3 charming daughters: Celeste (3), Louise (9) and Emilie (12). All girls! During the last 6 years, au pairs have taken care of our family in Paris and now in London. They were happy and independent. All of them have greatly enjoyed the girls and our happy house. You could contact them and they will share their experience with you. Being au pair with us is a great opportunity to both discover UK and learn French and English at the same time. We are just like our au pair; we speak English outside and French at home! We are also eager to understand better the British culture and some of our week-ends look like holiday trips. As parents, we both work in international businesses and we consider the au pair as another adult in the Family. We do mutually respect her privacy and freedom. We live in a cosy 6-bedrooms house with garden. Au pair’s bedroom is at the top floor, sharing the bathroom with our 12 years old daughter. We have 3 daughters: Celeste, Louise and Emilie. Celeste is 3 years-old and will be at the nursery next year. She's so cute and funny. She speaks both French and English and her favourite cartoon is… Peppa Pig! Louise is nearly 10 years old. She has a great personality. Louise is in a French bilingual school in Notting Hill. She loves to write poetries and take care of her daughter. She loves sport and gym too! Emilie is our big girl. She's 12 years old and she's in a English secondary school in Notting Hill as well. She also has French correspondence courses. She is independent and curious, she loves cooking and baking cakes. And what about us ? Sophie is working in Marketing, commuting between Paris and London. Denis is working in the Television business in London. We are both found of art and culture, particularly music, photography and Cinema. Our families are from Paris, Burgundy and Provence where our kids spend some holidays with their grandparents. We strongly believe in the richness of living abroad. Before we met, Sophie spent some time studying inCanada, then in NYC, while Denis was living in Italy. Living in another country is for us an exciting experience we definitively want to share. We have had Au pair in our families for the last 6 years. We expect her to take great care of our 3 girls: they need time and attention, a good balance between authority and affection. We need someone trustworthy and highly responsible (it can happen that we both travel at the same time and need to leave our au pair with the kids for 1 or 2 days). We need her to be proactive and mature, knowing what has to be done in the house without being necessarily asked. We also want her to be at ease with being quite independent, having her own plans for the week-ends for example. We are happy to discuss and share with her (some of our previous au pairs are friends now) but we also need to have some family time as parents' time at home is limited.
