Personal introduction

Dear Au Pair, We are a Dutch/ Canadian family who live in South East London and are looking for a preferably Dutch speaking au pair with a driving licence who can look after our son while I study for my Masters. We want the au pair to teach our 2 year old son Dutch so he can communicate with oma and opa in the Netherlands. At the moment he mixes English with Dutch. We are looking for an au pair who is kind, trustworthy, responsible and easy going. We talk English with our current au pair and she talks Dutch to our son. Working hours will be 3 days a week with babysitting every other week. You will be taking our son to several play groups where you can meet other au pairs, moms etc and talk English of course. Our son will go to nursery on Monday all day, Thursday and Friday afternoon, therefore we need an au pair who can drive. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask. Kind Regards, Dunn family

The Au pair's job

Au pair will be working the equivalent of 3 days a week and babysits every other week. This might be in the weekend but could also be during the week. Working days will be: Tuesday & Wednesday all day, Thursday and Friday morning (You are free after dropping him off at nursery) The au pair will be required to bring our son to nursery in the afternoon by car which is about a 10 minute drive. On the other days go with him to one of the local play groups which is normally held at different churches. The way it works here is that you stay with the child and keep an eye on him while you have tea and chat with the other moms, nanny's and au pairs. You will need to wake him, dress him, brush teeth, feed him, help with potty training, do his laundry, change nappies, put him to bed for his afternoon nap, maybe get some fruit for him in the high street, play with him and teach him Dutch words. Tidy up his toys and tidy up after he eats. Light house hold choirs might include empty out the dishwasher, vacuum if he made too much of a mess after dinner, keep your own bedroom tidy, and in general clean up behind you as you would do at home. The au pair will have her own bedroom with large wardrobe, bedside table, bookshelves and a TV. We are open to any religion an au pair may have and will give her the freedom to go to church.
