Hello! We are a relaxed and friendly family living in south London who are looking for an au pair to be part of the family and enjoy a fast-paced London life. We are looking for someone to help primarily with our older children, twin girls aged 6. However, we also have a baby boy, and it would be great to have someone who is happy playing with a toddler. We're looking for someone who's upbeat and happy, keen to get stuck in to family life, but also keen to be independent at times, maybe using us as a base to explore London and the UK. We do require someone who speaks English as their native language, or completely fluently. The children are all well behaved and fun to be around. The girls love doing art and craft, reading, cooking, riding their bikes and playing on the trampoline. The baby loves watching his sisters play, and crawling around and causing chaos! We live in a large house with a lovely garden in Herne Hill, which is a very nice area of south London - very residential, with lots of other au pairs around to hang out with. It is green and quiet, with lots of parks and open space, as well as nice shops, restaurants and cafes, but it is also only 10 minutes on the train from central London (we live 5 minutes from the station). The au pair has her own floor at the top of the house - a large, sunny bedroom and her own bathroom. We look forward to hearing from you!
We're looking for a happy and upbeat person, willing to get stuck in to family life. Equally, au pairing is a two-way exchange, and we're keen that you bring something of your own culture and personality into our life - whether that's through your hobbies, your food, or just how you engage with the kids. On the days that mum is not working (2 days per week) I would like an extra pair of hands around from 3pm, to help with picking up the girls from school and doing kids' dinner, homework, bath and bed (the kids go to bed around 7.30). On the days that I am at work (3 days per week) you will be expected to help with the morning routine and sometimes drop the girls at school (it is 5 minutes from our house). Then we need you to pick the girls up at 3.20pm and bring them home, help them with their homework and reading, make their tea and play with them. We get home around 6.30pm. Our baby son will go to another family with a nanny for the 3 days that I am at work, so you won't be expected to look after him specifically, but it would be helpful if you were happy to play with him and help out with him for short periods of time. During the day we'd like you to do some laundry and ironing, which should take no more than 1 hour per day. You won't need to do any house cleaning as we have a cleaner once a week, but you'll need to do washing up, tidying etc, as part of the household. Also up to 2 nights babysitting per week.
