We are a fun busy family looking for an au pair for 3-6 months to join our household and help take care of our two young boys and our dog. We are looking for a girl who is fun, responsible, able to think for herself and capable of taking sole charge when necessary of two young boys. You will need to like dogs as we have a young cocker spaniel. The boys are half Swedish so a Swedish au pair would be a bonus but not essential. Previous experience of looking after children and a genuine interest in childcare would be good. The boys love to play and be outdoors so you will need lots of energy. We live in a lovely village about 10 minutes drive from the nearest town, colchester, so there will be opportunity to attend language classes and meet friends. The bus stop to town is only a few minutes from the house and the train station is only 10 mins by bus where trains run to London in 45mins. If you like to have fun, enjoy children and animals and appreciate the countryside then we would love to hear from you.
Main duties would include. Collecting boys from school and nursery 4 days a week. You may need to take them some mornings as well. Make nutritious meals for the children, help with homework, play and get them ready for bed. Walk the dog 4 days a week. Light cleaning, ironing of children's clothes and keeping their room tidy, making beds etc. keeping on top of washing and keeping the house tidy. Babysitting up to 2x per week. Weekends off although we may require the occasional babysitting at the weekend. You will have your own room on the top floor, shared bathroom, internet access and tv.
