My daughter Emma will be 1 in January 2014, and I will be returning to work full time. We are looking for someone trustworthy to stay with us and look after Emma while we are at work. We have flexibility in work hours, and so its not necessarily everyday of the week. Finding the right person to fit with our family is the most important thing, and so for the right person we will come up with an arrangement that suits us both We live in a small village a few miles outside of Cambridge. The house is a few minutes walk to the train station, which is 50 minutes into London, or 8 minutes into Cambridge. We can offer accommodation in a self contained annexe, and you can choose to spend your own time relaxing with us in the house or have your own privacy in your annexe. However, as a member of the family we hope you would choose to eat with us, and join us for any family outings/activities.
We expect an au pair to be responsible, and the care of Emma is the absolute first priorty. You'll need to be happy to change a nappy! I do not expect any household duties while you are solely responsible for Emma - At times when we are also home we might ask you to help out with doing some of her wasking, and if you enjoy cooking then we would be very happy to enjoy your cooking! During the day she follow her usual routine of play, sleep and meals. There are a couple of baby groups that we would like her to attend, and this is a good opportunity for you to meet other people in the village. If you can speak a second language then we would encourage you to introduce her to your language. Emma has German grandparents, and so German is desirable. We are only a short train journey or bus ride/ 10 mins in the car into cambridge city centre and so you might like to take Emma to Cambridge for the day, There are lots of soft play areas in the area which she enjoys. There is some nice countryside around and so plenty of opportunities for walks - we will of course pay all your expenses if you take her out and about. Most important, please be honest with us about your expectations so it is a happy arrangement on both sides!
