We are looking for an Au pair who is happy to have sole charge of our children for three days a week. The rest of the week is your own and we would prefer an independent person who is happy to go and explore the country and meet new people. We would like some who is happy to be outside with the children even through the cold winter months – bring a big coat! We want someone who will encourage the children to be more sporty. We would give you £85 pounds a week pocket money for looking after the children between 8am and 7 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Wednesdays, language classes take place in Skipton. Alternatively, the language school in Leeds runs weekend intensive language courses. The language course in Skipton costs £180 per year for approximately two hours a week. We can pay this fee for you. The language courses in Leeds are more expensive but we would be happy to contribute the same amount toward the course in Leeds. Going to the language course in Leeds would allow you to meet more people your own age. I think the weekend intensive courses are £99 per weekend. You would also have 4 to 5 weeks paid holiday over a 12 month period. These would need to be taken when we take our holidays but again, we can be flexible. We would be happy to pay £100 towards a trip home too. We would like you to be independent and immerse yourself in new activities and in the community. We would also like you to teach the children your native language.
Our daily routine is as follows: Weekdays (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday i.e. the days we need your help) • Georgina leaves for work at 7:37am. • Kev leaves for work at 8.00am. • Isaac needs taking to the school bus in the village at 8:15am (the bus leaves at 8:24am). • Matilda needs looking after until Isaac is collected from the bus stop at 3:45pm. You can go for walks, go to the park, ride bikes, read stories, role play, do arts and crafts (we have lots of craft materials), learn dance, learn your language, bake and cook. • Isaac and Matilda go home for tea and then go on a walk, play outside, go to the park, go to the village green. • Children have a bath/wash and get into pyjamas 6:30pm. • 7:00pm Georgina and Kev return from work and put the children to bed. Weekdays (Wednesday and Fridays)-Georgina works from home on Wednesdays and Kev works from home on Fridays so we do not require help with the children on these days. In addition to the above routine, we would like you to cook family meals on Monday Tuesdays and Thursdays, help teach the children to put their things away, help with the childrens laundry, and change the childrens bedding once a week. We would also like the occasional babysitting session in an evening but this would not be every week. We have a cleaner who comes to the house every week to clean the communal areas so we would not expect you to help with cleaning, but help with the everyday chores.
