We are a Finnish-American family, bringing up our few month old baby, Argo, in the Netherlands. Argo's mother, Rosa, is a scientific researcher, while I work on ships. Due to my work taking me away from home, we are looking for extra help.
As there are no daycare centers conveniently nearby, the main task is to take care of Argo during working hours. Ideally, the au pair would speak Finnish, so that the little guy gets good exposure to one of his two native languages. Other auxiliary duties can be discussed later.
