We are a family in the West Midlands of England. We live in a four bedroom home with a small garden, in a pretty village, which is close to Solihull and Coventry. The village has a shop, church, school, village hall and pub. The railway and regular bus services to Solihull, Coventry and Birmingham are about a mile's walk or bike ride away. Some bus services also run through the village. There are language schools and other educational resources in the surrounding towns and cities. My name is Anna. I am 43 and I am a senior analyst working in Birmingham. My husband Alan works in crime prevention. We have two girls, who are 13 and 10 years old. We have been looking after the girls since they were little, as their mother died very suddenly. We were aunt and uncle, and our youngest calls us mum and dad. She is loud and sporty. She also loves baking and board games. Our eldest is more quiet and likes reading, Harry Potter, art and playing piano. She has Aspergers so can be a little anxious. We have a dog who is nearly 15 years old and two guinea pigs. We do not smoke. We have been renovating and rebuilding our home over the last two years. The renovations are largely complete, though there are still a few things around the home to do. We are down to earth people and live fairly simply. We enjoy outdoor activities, travel and car shows/races. We are looking for a kind hearted, patient and fun au pair to join our family.
We are looking for an au pair to start in early September and stay until July. We are looking for someone to share our home and to help us with our two girls before and after school. This will include some light housework (e.g. helping our children with breakfast and a light evening meal, tidying up in the kitchen after cooking, helping with the children's laundry and helping them to keep their rooms tidy) and also dog walking. Usually we will ask you to help us from 07:30 to 09:00 and then again from around 15:00 or 15:45 to usually 18:00. You may be asked to drive our children to appointments during this time. For this you will have access to our second car, and we will arrange some driving lessons for you. There will be occasional babysitting in the evening, only by agreement. You will have most weekends free. You will have your own room downstairs in the new extension, with Wi-Fi and TV, and main use of the downstairs shower room. You will have free time to socialise and study. We are happy to assist our au pair to register with local colleges, for example to take language classes.
