Personal introduction

I am looking for an au pair to start in the first week of June and to stay for a period of 9-12months. Am a single mum with a gorgeous 3-year-old son who is very independent. I live in a town called Royston, in Hertfordshire, which is easily accessible to London and Cambridge by train. We are a friendly, young family. My home is a two-bed terrace with a front garden. It is a 4mins walk to the train station and a short work to the town centre. You will have your own room with a double bed and wardrobe. There is the internet in the house, and the lounge and kitchen and everywhere in my home are accessible to you. We try to eat healthily and take walks in the parks. I love baking and my little boy loves helping out in the kitchen when I cook.

The Au pair's job

I am looking for an au pair to start in the first week of June and to stay for a period of 9-12months. Due to the nature of my work and course as a student Nurse, I am looking for someone who can take my son to and pick him up from the nursery, cook his dinner and stay with him before I get back from work. Light housework duties required. The person would have 8 hours during the day to their personal things. Days off will be discussed to suit us all. I do the baths for my son. I would like an Au pair to live as part of our family and help with the school run/after school care, some help with the cooking, and some light cleaning. There may be times I'm back late and would love if the Aupair would support the little one to bedtime routine. Some help with light housework such as washing up, hoovering and tidying would be expected and appreciated, but the main priority would be little J. There may also be the odd babysitting duty on evenings/weekend but unlikely to be any overnight requirements. There are English (ESOL) courses available in Cambridge which the Aupair could do during the day. I will encourage and support our Au pair to learn as much as possible during their time so training/study is welcomed. We are an active family so would prefer an au pair that fits in with our lifestyle. We are a warm, welcoming and easy going family and want you to be happy and feel at home with us - we believe in open communication, honesty and mutual respect, as well as a good mix of time together and independence. We hope this information helps you to decide whether we might be a good match for you - any questions please just ask, we look forward to hearing from you :)
