We are a happy, friendly and busy family living in Chiswick, a suburb in inner West London. Our family comprises two dads and our five-year old son. Both dads work. One travels quite a bit for work whilst the other works in central London. Our son is a happy, cheeky little guy with a great personality and sense of humour. We live in a lovely spacious family house with a small back-yard. There are many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. We are less than 10 to 15 -minute walk from Turnham Green Underground and Overground train station, and at the end of our road there are excellent bus routes. You will have the privacy of your own bedroom on the first floor with its own ensuite. Your bedroom has WiFi.
You will be expected to work up to 35 hours a week helping with childcare and housework. Some of these hours might be during the weekend, although any weekend hours will be arranged flexibly in agreement with you and is not very common. There will also be up to two nights’ babysitting per week, which may include the weekend, but we do not expect you to stay up/awake when babysitting. Occasionally we may ask you to babysit an additional evening but would look to swap this for a different week when we are not out as much. We will normally get James out of bed and down stairs for breakfast at 0700 on weekdays. Most mornings we leave the house before 800am and would expect you to ensure he finishes his breakfast, gets dressed for school and then walking him to school. You will receive full board and lodging. More details of the role are, as follows • You should be a kind, friendly, responsible and trustworthy person. Someone energetic and hard-working, flexible, cheerful and easy-going. • You should love spending time with young children and be ready to have fun with them (whether playing, doing activities or going on playdates). • You should have experience of looking after young children - either through previous work experience or through your own family. • You should be prepared to help out at home with general tidying, laundry, ironing and light housework (we have a cleaner for the main housework). • You should be happy to have reasonably flexible hours, although these hours will always be agreed in advance with you and will not exceed 35 hours a week plus some additional time babysitting. • To assist our son as he starts to read and write, you should speak good English to a level where you no longer need to attend language classes and so just wish to practice speaking English within an everyday environment. Should you wish to attend language school to improve your English however, this is possible whilst our son is at school. • You must be a non-smoker • You must have at least 2 checkable references.
