Personal introduction

Hi! We will be moving from Switzerland to Sevenoaks (25 minutes by train from London Bridge) in April. Our beautiful 4 and a half-year old son is a very enthusiastic and active child and loves big machines, construction sites, playing outside, climbing/running around and cycling through the fields (although sometimes he gets a little tired and I have to carry him home ;-) ). He speaks Dutch, English and some French. Our lovely little girl is a very spirited, smart two-year old who wants to do everything on her own (including eating, getting dressed, putting her shoes on etc.). She loves painting, playing with clay, jumping on the trampoline and riding around on her little red car. At the moment only one of us works full-time (Dad) but in the future Mom would also like to get back to the work force. To us having someone in our home every day to take care of our kids is a meaningful thing so we are really looking for an au pair with whom we can connect, who is motivated to help run the household smoothly and who wants to become part of our family. So if you feel the same, please contact us!

The Au pair's job

Hi! We are looking for a motivated, trustworthy and loving, native french speaking, live-in au pair (30-35 hrs) to become part of our family, taking care of our 4-year old son and 2-year old baby girl. We would like to find someone who takes responsibility and pro-actively engages with our children (putting away the mobile for a few hours): taking them out for walks, painting, drawing, teaching them songs, colours, numbers etc. when they are not in school: A fun and enthusiastic but responsible playmate for the kids who also knows when to say 'no'. At the moment we are looking into possible schools in the area but most likely both children will need to be driven to school in the mornings and picked up in the afternoons so our au-pair should feel very comfortable driving in the UK. Our youngest one will probably be home two full days per week and would need to be put in bed for naps and be fed at lunchtime (simple sandwiches/eggs/veggies, no extensive cooking required) on those days. In addition we would like the au pair to tidy up after the kids but also help out with some housekeeping chores (vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and ironing) 3-4 hours per week. Our au-pair would have the weekends off and apart from the rare evening out for Mom & Dad, almost all of the evenings as well. She will have her own room and bathroom on the ground floor (with the master bedroom and children's bedrooms upstairs). We encourage our au-pair to learn English by paying for a language course and would like her to make friends and have a social life in and around Sevenoaks. Our house is a 10-minute walk to the train station in Sevenoaks with trains to London Bridge (25 minutes) every 10-15 minutes. We have a car and bicycle available for use by our au-pair.
