Personal introduction

Hey there! My name is youssef and I’m a 19-year-old from New York. I’m really thrilled at the idea of joining your family as an au pair, getting to dive into your everyday life while sharing a bit of my own world and lending a hand where I can. Right now, I’m a college freshman majoring in computer science, and I absolutely love picking up new skills, exploring different places, and connecting with people from all walks of life. I speak English and Arabic fluently, so I figure that could bring something special to the mix, like teaching your kids a few fun words or telling them stories from Arabic tales. I grew up in a pretty diverse neighborhood, which taught me early on how important family and learning are. As the older brother in my family and to several cousins, I’ve had extensive hands-on childcare experience over the years, from helping with homework and bedtime routines to organizing playtime and resolving little squabbles. This year, I’ve been working as a substitute paraprofessional in schools, supporting kids with their lessons and daily activities, including those with special needs to ensure everyone feels included and succeeds. And for the past two summers, I was a camp counselor for children between 6 and 12, planning activities, making sure everyone stayed safe, and encouraging them to build teamwork and self-confidence. Those roles have really sharpened my patience, creativity, and sense of responsibility, from whipping up simple meals to guiding homework sessions or organizing outings. I’ve had my driver’s license for a few years now, so I’m comfortable handling drives for school pickups or family trips if that helps. What draws me to being an au pair is how it fits right in with my passion for adventure and supporting others. I’d love to be that dependable, fun big brother type in your home, whether it’s playing games outside, pitching in with light tasks, or introducing some American favorites like a casual backyard cookout. In exchange, I’m excited to soak up your culture, pick up more of your language if needed, and wander around your country on my days off.
