Personal introduction
Dear Host Family,
My name is Samantha, and I am very excited about the possibility of joining your family as an au pair. Becoming an au pair in the United States has been a dream of mine for many years, and I am now at a stage in my life where I am ready to finally take this step.
I graduated from high school in 2020, but due to circumstances at the time (Covid-19), I was never able to fulfill my dream of coming to the United States. Since 2021, I have been studying law, and before I move forward toward taking the bar exam, I would like to take a step back and give myself the chance to explore my long-held dream of living in the U.S. Spending a year as an au pair feels like the perfect opportunity to experience the culture firsthand and to see whether life in the States is the right fit for me.
I have been babysitting since my teenage years and have experience caring for children from as young as 14 months up to 11 years old. Throughout my studies, childcare has always been a meaningful and grounding part of my life. I enjoy creating a safe, warm, and joyful environment for children, and I bring both responsibility and creativity into my work with them. I am fluent in both German and English and would be happy to support your children in developing their language skills if desired.
I am a very artistic person — I love drawing, crafting, music, and creating small activities that help children express their imagination. I believe that art and creativity can be a wonderful tool in childcare, helping children learn, explore, and grow in a fun and playful way.
I hope to find a family with whom I can build a warm and respectful relationship, where communication, kindness, and trust are central. I look forward to contributing to your household, supporting your children’s development, and embracing life in California.
Thank you very much for considering my application. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and would love to get to know you better.
