Personal introduction

Dear Host Family, My name is Juan Davila, I’m 26 years old and from Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. I’m a cheerful, kind, and responsible person who truly enjoys connecting with others and learning from new experiences. I hold a degree in International Business, and I currently work as an Operations Customer Expert for Apple. My job has helped me develop great communication skills, patience, and empathy — qualities I believe are also essential when caring for children. I live with my mom, my siblings, and my grandparents. We are a very close and supportive family, and I’ve grown up in an environment where respect, teamwork, and caring for one another are core values. We also have two lovely dogs who bring a lot of joy and energy to our home. In my free time, I love going to the gym — fitness and health have been a passion of mine for the past three years. I’m also very interested in nutrition and workout optimization. Besides that, I enjoy swimming, playing tennis occasionally, reading, and spending time outdoors. These activities help me stay balanced, happy, and full of energy. I have experience working with children of different ages. I volunteered at my cousin’s kindergarten, caring for children between 1.5 and 6 years old. With the little ones, I helped with meals, painting, gluing, and storytelling — those quiet and joyful moments while they listened to stories or proudly showed me their drawings are memories I truly treasure. With the older kids, I supported them in learning basic English and guided them through creative and fun activities. I’ve also taken care of my 10-year-old cousin, helping him with homework, playing, and talking together. These experiences taught me how meaningful it is to be present, to listen, and to be a positive figure in a child’s life. My interest in Sweden began when I learned about a university scholarship program there. I became curious and started learning more about Swedish culture, values, and traditions — especially the focus on family, balance, and equality. Since then, Sweden has truly captured my heart. I even study Swedish every day and currently have a 260-day streak on Duolingo, which makes me very proud and keeps me motivated to keep learning the language and culture. Becoming a Bro Pair is a wonderful opportunity for me to immerse myself in Swedish life while contributing to your family as a caring, responsible, and positive role model for your children. I would be delighted to meet you and spend time with you and the children. I’m sure we will have a great time together, sharing experiences and learning from each other’s cultures.
