We are a family of 4 and live in Southwest Mallorca, living 5 minutes walk from the beach and Puerto Adriano Marina. We work in real estate as a team (my husband and I). I have my sister and her 2 children living close by as well as my elderly parents, so we have a family network around us, but they are all very busy so we need extra help with our children. We are looking for a friendly and responsible girl who has experience with children and also has driving experience. We need somebody who is active and actually enjoys and likes being with children - ours are bright and warm - we encourage routines, and try to encourage them to be autonomous and we are looking for someone who is like minded and will push them to do what they are required to do, whilst at the same time giving them attention and playing with them - doing creative activities with them, take them to the park, and helping with homework etc. Our aupair must speak and understand english to an acceptable level and not have fussy food habits. We eat everything in our house :) We live in a town with access to beaches, marina & shops and also easy bus route into Palma de Mallorca city. It is a flat and attractive area, great for jogging, walking or biking (you can borrow one of our bikes anytime if you like cycling). You would have your own private bedroom and lounge area to relax in the evenings. As spring arrives, we are in an area where lots of families have aupairs that you can befriend and we also have a park round the corner where they meet up with the children.
The children are at school every day, we need somebody that will rise in the morning (7 am with them and help us to get them ready each day, prepare snack for school, breakfast etc and then drive them to school for 8.30am) We have cleaning every week so no actual proper cleaning is required (apart from your own room) When you return from the school run, we would usually require an hour of light duties at home (this involves tidying up, straightening the kids rooms, emptying the dishwasher or doing washing / ironing). Then they day is your own until they finish at 4.30pm - when we require you to collect them from school, some days they have after school activities - ballet / tennis / street dance. But always they are home before 6.40pm - they then need to get ready for bed, and have a simple dinner. We will come home from work - usually before 7pm and spend some time with them before bed, reading or talking. Then they are in bed before 8pm each night - you would help with putting them to bed also. Then the evening is your own also. We have a second lounge you can use in the evenings with TV (English) and Netflix - it is attached to your bedroom and bathroom and is a kids lounge / play area in the day time. The weekends are varied - we would require you to wake with them one of the days and you can lie in one of the days. They can get their own breakfasts, but our eldest always has homework to do in the weekend mornings, which you would need to help us ensure this is completed by him. He also has saxophone to practice. We would like you to spend some time playing with them at the weekend - maybe take them to the park or do some creative activity with them - or the beach / picnics etc when the weather is a little warmer. You would always have a half day to yourself at the weekend on each day should you wish unless we are all out somewhere together for the day. If we go out for lunch together or somewhere fun, we would need you to chip in and help with the children of course. We may ask for an occasional night of babysitting at the weekend but this is not regular. We offer a full day off every week (you can choose the day together with us each week and a full weekend off in every 4) We need somebody to start around the 4 or 5 th January and to stay for as long as possible.
