Our family - me, my husband, our two children and 'Granny", live on a small farm in Buckinghamshire. Our youngest daughter has down's syndrome and physical disabilities following chemotherapy, so she appreciates extra help to enable her to play and have fun. She loves to ride and we have ponies on the farm. Our family life is busy, so you need to be active and physically fit, but also considerate and gentle. My husband is a digital publisher and works for a Spanish company who publish language teaching books. He is an experienced TEFL english teacher and speaks fluent Spanish & French. Our granny also has lots of English Language experience. We will help you improve your English, and pass English exams. We have two language schools nearby, or we can provide you with course work. We have a bicycle which you can use. It is 30 minutes to cycle to the city and 20 minutes to our local town. The are trains to London (35minutes) from Milton Keynes. I will happily drive you to the station. We are located in the countryside, so if you want a local busy social life, this is not the place for you.
We appreciate help with the children, on the farm and with the animals. Ideally you will have some experience of working with children who have special needs. If you enjoy horses, you may like to take some responsibility to care for them. The children are both at school, so your work will be to help get them ready for school 2 or 3 mornings per week. During the day you are either free to explore the local area, or I may ask you to do some housework, sort out the laundry (children's clothes) or some help in the garden. After school, your role is to help keep our youngest daughter entertained and play with her. Our son is very friendly and welcoming. He adores playing football and will be very happy if you want to play with him! He is a great reader, likes to ride his pony and will talk to you lots - been help you with English if you like. Our daughter is a very happy and funny girl. Lots of fun to play with. We provide you with food, your own bedroom and bathroom and £85 / week. approx 30hours/week We are only able to offer an au pair position to EU members who can provide a DBS Check (child safety).
