Personal introduction

Hi! I am Hailey, I'm 18 years old, and I will be taking a gap year before starting college in North Carolina at Salem College. I am very much looking forward to this experience. I am currently on exchange in Finland for the 2015-2016 school year as an exchange student. I have taken 4 years of French, 1 year of German, 6 months of Spanish, and now I am learning Finnish. I love to learn languages and I'm very willing to help your family with their English, if wanted. I have had much experience with children in a teaching environment; my 11th grade year of school I interned at an elementary school as a teacher's assistant for 5 months and here I go once a week to the elementary school to help out the English classes. I have played soccer for 10 years as it is my hobby, I have also played 2 years of field hockey, 4 years of dance and gymnastic's as a child. Since I will be taking a year off before I start university, this seems like a good time to explore the world a bit more and join a new family also! My exchange year has opened me up to so many new cultures and ways of life, it is truly amazing how we live on the same planet but our customs are so different. I want to become an English teacher for foreign student's in elementary school and being an Au pair will give me more experience and help me become a good teacher when I become a teacher. Though I am really considering to become a Foreign Service Officer and work at the American Embassies!
