We are a busy, happy family with 2 boys still at home aged 7 and 9, 2 dogs (cocker spaniels living outside) and 3 cats! We are welcoming and friendly! We live near a lovely town called Guildford in Surrey. We are close to a train station which gets you to London in 30 minutes. We have a lot of countryside around us so have the best of the city and nature on our doorstep! We have a large house with an indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis court and large garden. I'm looking for an au pair to help me with the children, driving with them, playing with them, and also keeping the house clean and tidy. We have successfully had au pair couples and individual au pairs for 8 years, all staying at least 1-2 years. We hope to continue successful relationships going forward. We are a fun, noisy family. The boys love sport, playing games and are learning the piano. They do a lot of activities so need collecting and dropping off at clubs. We also have older children no longer living at home, they are now away at university and travelling. I work from home part time, my husband is a lawyer working in London. We have busy lives but have a lot of laughs together. Mornings are often a bit crazy getting everyone out of the house but everyone leaves happy!
The au pair role can be adapted for a couple or an individual au pair. We require 35 hours help a week from an individual au pair to include school runs, after school club pick ups, some after school care, it is also a housekeeping role including washing and ironing laundry, keeping the house clean and tidy, 1-2 nights babysitting a week, swimming with the boys, playing games, walking the dogs, cooking if you like to cook! A clean driving license is essential and use of a car included as part of the role. Our au pair accommodation is a double bedroom with basic cooking facilities located outside the main house, attached to the pool house. Our au pairs are usually quite independent and happy to do their own thing out of work hours which means we all have our own space which has always worked well for us and our au pairs. We have a very good college that teaches English so if our au pair wants to improve her English we will support her in that (our current au pair goes twice a week). You will also have weekends free to enjoy our country!
