Dear Au Pair, We hope you would consider being our au pair and helping with our children and being part of our family. We live in Hythe, near Folkestone in Kent. We are fun loving close family who like to get out and about. We are a family of 3; I have a girl aged 7and a boy aged 14. We also have 2 cats, Wombat and Summer. We are looking for an au pair who can start soon. We are looking for an au pair to help look after the children. We would like someone who is outgoing, helpful and responsible, and wants to learn about the new surroundings, and people. We live very close to the beach in Hythe,Kent, about 5-10 minutes walk from our house. It is a pebble beach, and lovely for walking. There is also a canal and town close by. It is a very friendly town. And there is lovely countryside around Hythe and Folkestone. We also live near Ashford and Canterbury, and London is only about an hour away by train. There are loads of places to go shopping, visit other towns and cities, and meet new people, as we are in a really good location for travel. There are large shops and malls and a lot of places to go out in the local towns. Our nearest airports are Stansted or Gatwick. I work in Construction in London (Project Manager) so we need someone who can help the children get ready for school and look after them after school. You would also cook simple meals for you and the children. You will have time to go to college to learn English, if you want to. There is a very good college in Folkestone, called K college. I am a single parent, with funny, happy children who like the park and beach, and cycling. I work in London, and catch the train every day. My son enjoys playing on the PlayStation. He also likes swimming and cycling, and meeting his friends. He gets up early to deliver newspapers, and goes to athletics after school. He is learning Spanish at school, too. He is very funny and charming, a lovely teenager. He is very independent and helpful. My daughter likes playing with her babies (dolls) and the cats. She also likes going to the park or the beach. She goes to horse riding lessons and ballet at the weekends. She loves animals, and having friends to play at our house. She also learned to ride a bike this year, and loves going for bike rides. She loves art- drawing and painting- and making things. She is clever, cute and funny. They are both generally very healthy and happy children. We love doing things at the weekends together, especially when we can go to the beach or go to London. We are looking for an au pair who wants to be part of our family for about 9-12 months. We are looking for someone who loves children and is responsible and who can be a part of the family, but you will have the opportunity to go and explore on your own, or with new friends. Our new au pair will be available to look after the children approximately 25-30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 07:30 until 08:30 in the morning, and from 15:00 until 18:45 in the afternoon. You will be free most evenings and all weekends, but may do some babysitting during the week. You will need to be an experienced driver. We have a small car, a Mazda 2. You will need to drive my daughter to and from school. You must have a driving licence for 3 or more years. We would like you to prepare evening meals for the children, and help them keep their bedrooms tidy. Sometimes you may hang up the washing to dry or fold it to put away in the children's bedrooms. After meals, you and the children would put the dishes away in the dish washer or wash-up, and tidy the kitchen. However, we do not expect you to do lots of housework. You should be happy to take my daughter out to the park or the beach after school, help with homework and help with arts and crafts. Sometimes, she might have a friend round to play, or go to a friend's house to play. She also likes to watch movies. You can return home for Christmas/New Year, and Easter, and possibly in half term (February and May) We are looking for an au pair who does not smoke.
