We are a very friendly and outgoing family consisting of father / English, mother / Greek, and 2 girls aged 11 and 13 yrs old. Our girls are well behaved children who are happy, energetic and full of fun! They are very talkative and sociable and have enjoyed having an au pair in the house over the last five years. From September 2016 they will be in Y9 and Y7 at a school in Highgate, North London. They normally finish school at 4pm and on some days even later, if they have after school activities or a game. Our girls both love dance, arts and craft, fashion, travel, spending time with family and friends. They are also very much looking forward now to our two new kittens, a brown and a silver Bengal, arriving on the 1st of September! My husband and I both work full time in central London. We love living in London and try to make the most of it – we enjoy trips to the theatre, cinema, trying out new restaurants, going for a stroll in the city, swimming in Hampstead Heath, shopping, travelling abroad, reading, sport and exercise. The family language is of course English, but we both speak also fluent German, French and Greek. In addition my husband speaks Spanish and Swedish (his mum is Swedish). We live in a terraced house with a garden a 5 min walk from Golders Green bus and tube stations (Northern Line) in north west London. Local transport facilities are excellent with regular buses and tubes to Oxford Street / West End and central London taking about 20 mins (on tube). (a) Dates / hours We are looking for an au pair to join us from 24 August 2016 to stay with us through to the end of July 2017, working for 25 hours per week. There is some flexibility around these dates. The main working hours will be from 16:00 – 21:00 (although often you will finish earlier than 21:00), Monday – Friday. This means that you will generally have every weekday morning and early afternoon free as well as Saturdays and Sundays (apart from when babysitting is needed on a weekend night). (b) Main tasks • Taking girls to after school activities (e.g. pilates and friends’ houses for play dates) by taxi / bus • Helping with homework • Cooking simple, healthy evening meals • Helping with washing the girls’ hair • Keeping the girls’ room and ground floor area tidy (kitchen and reception) • Some light housework (mainly washing and ironing the girls’ clothes; we have a cleaner who comes once a week) • Feeding / cleaning up after pets - Up to 2 evenings babysitting a week Our ideal au pair • Outgoing and friendly with “can do” approach to life • Independent and discreet • Reliable and respectful • Preferably sporty and / or musical Additional Information (a) Weekly Pay During the normal school week, we will pay a weekly amount of £80 per week and in addition contribute £15 per week towards a weekly bus pass (allowing unlimited journeys through central London) - £95 per week in total. (b) Half Term & Holidays During half term and school holidays, we will require additional assistance and accordingly will pay a total of £150 per week. PLEASE APPLY WITH CV AND REFERENCES
