We are a British and Ugandan family with a 4 year old daughter. We live in a 4 bed house in Kingston upon Thames which is on the outskirts of London, very close to green spaces like Richmond Park and Bushey Park. There is a single room with view over the garden for an au pair. It's a quiet neighbourhood but there is great shopping and dining in Kingston and in nearby Richmond and we have easy access to central London. We both work, sometimes long hours and with some travel. It's a busy house. I speak French and Spanish fluently and our daughter is learning Spanish at school. We are looking for an au pair who is independent, flexible and happy to take on responsibility.
We are looking for an au pair who can entertain and look after our daughter, prepare simple meals for her, babysit and keep the house tidy. She is at school so is out of the house from 8.45 to 3.30 or 4.30 during the week in term time. Because of our work patterns, we need someone who is willing to be alone with her overnight occasionally. We don't have fixed timetables so we need someone who can be flexible. It would generally be 25 hours work per week plus 2 babysitting nights. Weekends are free. Sometimes the work will be more housework and sometimes more childcare depending on how much we are home. With our current au pair, once or twice she has worked more hours than this for extra hourly pay on agreement.
