We are looking for a live in au pair for our 4-year old boy, Blake. We need someone who can start ON OR BEFORE the end of May 2016, so if you can not it is unlikely (although not impossible) that we will still need you. We both work on a self-employed basis and juggle our work lives with seeing our son as much as we can. We live in an area called Kensal Rise in West London, about 10 minutes away from Notting Hill. We are very well connected to many places in London - Westfield shopping centre is a 10 minute train ride away and Central London is another short train journey. We live in a 4 bedroom house. You will have your own large bedroom with double bed, sofa and its own bathroom on the second floor. The room is nicely furnished with wi-fi and central heating and there is no one else on this floor so you will have your own privacy at all times. We are very relaxed and easy going people. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, eating out, going to the theatre, cinema and to concerts. We have had two fabulous au pairs already - one stayed for a year and our current wonderful au pair has been with us for over two years. We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, organised, efficient au pair with good English to start as soon as possible, but certainly no later than 1 June 2016. Blake is a very bright, loving, gentle boy. Everyone who has ever looked after him says he is 'easy' and 'a delight' to look after. We welcome applications from people of any nationality who have a genuine passion for and interest in looking after children. We hope that you will feel pa
We would pay our au pair £240 per week and would expect the various duties as follows: IN SUMMARY: your hours would be 7.45am - 9.20am every weekday morning, and 12-6pm every weekday afternoon. We would also like babysitting on up to 2 nights per week. In September 2016, these hours would change since Blake will be going to school (rather than nursery). So, the afternoon hours will be 3-6pm rather than 12-6pm. However, we would like our au pair to help out with some tasks around the house as well which will fill in some of the hours. IN DETAIL: Blake currently attends nursery in the mornings Monday to Friday between 9.0 and 12.0. You would need to help with making Blake's breakfast from 8.0 and would then need to take Blake to nursery (a 30-40 minute bus ride away) to arrive at 9.0 and collect him at 12.00. You would then look after him after nursery until we come home at 6.00 pm, although you will find that one of us frequently comes home earlier in the afternoon to be with Blake. Blake goes to a number of activities after nursery which we would expect you to take him to (football, dance, art class). He also often has play dates with friends - sometimes at their houses and sometimes at ours. We would expect you to be happy to take him to these or to host his friends at our house on some afternoons. Blake loves going to the Natural History Museum and Science Museum, both of which are a bus ride away in South Kensington. He also enjoys going to a number of different parks nearby so we would need you to be happy to spend time outdoors with him and to find your way around London on buses and trains! From September, Blake will be at school, and the hours you will need to look after him will be much less - school will be from 8.30 am until 3.00 pm. You will need to take him to school and collect him, then to look after him until 6.00 pm Monday to Friday. We do not expect you to work during the day at weekends at all, although there may be very rare (a couple of times a year) exceptions when it would help us out when we might ask you. In the school holidays, during the periods when we are working, we would need you to be available to work 8.00 am until 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, although we may not need you for all of this time as we try to spend time with Blake ourselves during the holidays (we are both self employed so would typically take a morning or afternoon off each during a holiday week). We are away for the week of 18-25 June and 29 July - 5 August 2016 so you would have those weeks off (paid). In addition, we pay a further two weeks holiday per year (total of 4 weeks). We pay £240 per week. We also ask for some help with household chores. Our current au pair does all our laundry, a little bit of ironing and generally keeps the kitchen and play room clean and tidy when she is using it, as well as keeping Blake's room tidy. We have a cleaner who comes for 4 hours per week so we would never expect you to do general cleaning. We ask that you are prepared to babysit for us up to twice per week - once on an evening in the week and either Friday or Saturday night each week (by agreement). We are really keen that you should be happy and
