Dear Au-Pair, if you are experienced and great with young children, then we are interested in hearing from you. If you are also over 23 and from a French- or German-speaking country, that would be a bonus. We currently have our 1st Au-Pair living with us and both sides are really happy with the arrangement. Her big dream has always been to learn English and this has improved so much since she has been with us that she feels ready to move to Australia soon so from late August we will need to find someone to replace her. We would like you to speak to our girls exclusively in German/French and we will speak to you in English only, and actively help you develop your language skills. There is an English-class twice a week which our Au-Pair goes to, along with free baby and toddler groups in which you can develop your language skills. We will also introduce you to our circle of friends with young children so you can meet with them for play dates with our little ones and chat and improve your English even more when we are at work. We are looking for an Au-Pair who integrates well into our family, not someone who feels like an employee. It is very important that you have experience of working with children, as ours are still very young, and if you have qualifications in childcare, that would be a bonus. The main thing we need from you is to look after our children very well when we are at work, 4 full days a week, preparing their meals, going to groups with them, taking the older one to kindergarten or picking her up, etc. Letting us have a lie-in on weekends, helping with meals and housework as any adult family member would, which would really take the pressure off us, will also really help. In return, we are wanting to let you be a part of our family, help you in getting settled in Colchester, actively correct your English and be friends to you.
