My husband and I, both, work full-time in London. We have two children, a boy aged 8 and a girl who is 7. They attend the local village school, which is less than two miles away. We live in Wonersh, a quiet village in the Surrey Hills surrounded by hills and woods. The closest town to us is Guildford which is about four miles away. Guildford has a cinema, cafes, shopping, and a college where lots of au pairs (including our former au pairs) attend English classes. From Guildford station you can catch a train to London, which a 40-minute journey away. We have a four-bedroom house and you will have your own room. You will share a bathroom with the children.
Your duties include: Taking care of the children Monday to Friday from 7:15 to 8:40 am and 3-6:30 pm Supervising and helping the children getting ready for school, preparing breakfast, etc. Driving them to and from school Taking the children to after-school activities (cricket, basketball, etc.) twice or thrice a week Supervising the children’s meals (breakfast and supper) and showers Light housework: clearing up after the children’s meals, making the children’s beds in the morning, tidying up their toys and rooms or helping them tidy up Keeping your own room clean and the shared bathroom Ironing five shirts a week We do require you to drive and will take you out in the car a few times before you start driving on your own. You are required to work around 20-25 hours per week. In addition, you will be expected to babysit (one or two evenings per week) and you will have most of the weekends free.
