Thank you for taking interest in our family for your Au-Pair placement. We are a westernised and progressive family of Indian origin. We primarily speak English at home, but sometimes speak in Hindi too. We have two daughters, one 14 years and one 9 years old. Both of us work in Information Technology with world class companies in senior managerial positions and both our children go to very good schools in the local area. We live in a small town, but the nearest city (Basingstoke) is less than 10 miles away and is well connected by public transport. London is about an hour away by train with a train every half an hour. Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) is about 15-20 mins away and offers English language and other courses, in case you are interested in undertaking formal classes. Many families in our town keep Au-Pairs and you will be able to make friends locally. We are open to food from all cultures and often cook Italian, Mexican, English, Chinese, Thai in addition to Indian food, which is our main diet. We will be happy to cook for you if you enjoy our cooking, but if you prefer, you will be welcome to cook your own food to suit your tastes and we can buy your items as part of our weekly shopping. We have had European Au Pairs for the last 3 years and it has proven to be a great experience for both us and our Au Pairs. In general, we will look for your help with work related to our children. Both girls are now old enough to take care of themselves and do not require too much supervision. More specifically, your tasks will be: * Help children with getting ready fro school * Serve breakfast e.g. cereals, toast, etc * Make children’s beds * Drop and pick our younger daughter to/from the school bus stop * Make children's lunch during school holidays * Prepare dinner for children (only 2-3 times a week) * Play with our younger daughter and supervise studies * Get younger one ready for bed As part of the light household work, we would look for your help with: * Vacuum upstairs and downstairs * Run tumble dryer * Fold clothes from tumble dryer and iron children’s clothes * Tidy up kitchen, run the dishwasher and empty it
