I am looking for a kind, patient, and honest person to be a friend and part of our family. I have two young boys who are the absolute loves of my life. Although I am separated from their father, he is very involved in their lives and is frequently at my house in the evening and on the weekends. However, I am mainly alone with them during the day and would love to have an assistant to help me manage the day better and play with the kids when I am doing housework or need a rest etc. I am very hard working, and organised and keep a very clean/ neat home and have been successfully doing so by myself since my children were born, However, it would be nice to have a little bit of help and company during the day.
My main expectation from our au pair would be honesty. My boys are my life and I need to be able to have confidence in anybody that I allow around them. I am a very efficient and hard working person who finds it difficult to allow other people to do things for me. I like to do things by myself and so I am not looking for a housekeeper or someone to take over mothering duties...just a kind of mother's assistant that will be happy to keep me company and assist me when I need it by watching the children with me or for me if I need to do some work from home, or with very light housework (cooking with me, vaccuming etc.). Most importantly someone who will engage my children with play, reading stories. My flat is full of laughter and love and our au pair would need to feel like part of our family. Ideally I would love someone who would be happy to speak Portuguese to all of us (me and the children) while the children are awake and if they wanted to speak English this should be in the evening when the children are in bed..
