We are looking for an au pair for our three children (9 year old son, 11 and 13 year old daughters), between end of August 2013 and end of July 2014, i.e. for about 11 months. Our children spend about half of the week in our house with us and the remaining time they are with our respective ex partners. As a result, our au pair has more free time than usual, for example Mondays & Tuesdays are often free time where you can attend language classes or pursue studies or hobbies. We speak English at home but we also speak German and French (our daughters are attending the French school in London). At the moment we have a German au pair who helps dropping the children off at school and picking them up, helping with homework, playing with them until we come home, cooking a simple dinner or looking after them when we are out on some weekends. There is also some light housework to do. We have a fairly relaxed home, the house is quiet only when we are around but when the children are with us it becomes quiet noisy and chaotic and fun! TM is 13 in October she takes her role as the eldest very seriously� she is loves horses, movies and is a good student. H is 11 this summer. She sings and dances all day. She too loves horses, she is very caring and has a great sense of humour. D is the youngest he is 9 soon. He loves Minecraft, playing with Legos, kicking a ball in the park. The kids get on well and often do things together: watching movies, organising a show�
You will have a large bedroom at your disposal with your own TV - the bathroom is shared but we also have another family bathroom on the 1st floor where all our bedrooms are. When the children are not with us, we often work long hours in the office and come home late (e.g. 7pm or 8pm) so this position would be ideally suited for a slightly older, more mature and independent au pair with a reasonably good level of English and prior au pair or child minding experience. On days when the children are around we tend to come earlier to spend time with them. Pick up from school, taking children to activities perhaps and preparing dinner will be your responsibility until we arrive. We live in Richmond, which is a very nice area of West London, with many parks, lots of shops and one or two Language schools. It takes about 45 minutes to get into central London from our house.
