The Au Pair will be helping to look after 3 of our 4 children who are aged 9, 11,11. The oldest is 14. There are 3 boys and 1 girl. We have had Au Pairs living with us since 2004, and we can offer a friendly, kind and comfortable home here as part of our family. Mum is responsible for the 14 year old, who is also quite independent so the duties concern the younger 3 children. Accommodation The room for the Au Pair is at the top of the house and quite large with a double bed room with chests of drawers, desk, rocking chair with a wide window that lets in lots of light. There is a bathroom next door, which is mostly only used by the Au Pair. Only our 11 year old daughter sleeps up on the top floor as well – the rest of the family sleep on the floor below so there is a good degree of privacy. Pets We have a 2 year old Labrador and a 1 year old Spaniel and the Au Pair would need to walk him up on Wimbledon Common (which is a very beautiful part of London with amazing views) on Mon, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. She would also need to be around at some times during the day on Mon/ Tues and Weds as the dog should not be left for more than 3 hours a day on his own. We also have a cat who is very sweet and quiet but mostly keeps to herself.
Mum works part time on Mon, Tues and Weds and the Au Pair’s duties will involve: • helping Mum with the children after school and with bath time • prepare meals for the children • put clean washed clothes in the dryer and then fold all laundry and put it away in the children’s drawers and put parents clean laundry in their room • ironing – mostly men’s shirts – approx 5 shirts per week • pop out to the shops to pick up provisions such as bread, milk etc • general help to keep the house tidy and neat, ie. sweep/ hoover kitchen floor • walk the dogs and play with him to keep him occupied on Mon, Tues and Weds We also have a cleaner so the bulk of the cleaning is done by her.
