I am a recently separated mother of two. Our daughter is 6 and our son is 4. They are free-spirited, intelligent and loving kids who also need a lot of stimulation and creative fun time. I work for a small media company here in Kenya, and was born here although I come from an American family. The kids' father is from New Zealand and is a pilot. He lives in the same area and we co-parent responsibly. I can not afford full-time child care and so I felt that maybe an au pair would be the right choice for me. I am busy with work and so for the upcoming few weeks, which is my children's holiday, they really need someone fun and engaging and loving around during the day, who can enrich their lives. I am an easy-going and open minded mother and would love to find the right young person to join us for a few weeks. Kenya is a beautiful and diverse country with lots of opportunities for exploring and fun. Though where we live is rural, there are plenty of young people your own age to meet up with during your down time. The idea is for everyone to benefit...our kids, and you too!
General care-taking responsibilities: making sure kids are set with fun activities for the day. Simple snack/meal preparation. Facilitating activities like swimming, nature walks, painting, drawing, reading, or quiet play-time. Situation would be live-in, but hours would be wake up time until 3.30 when I return from work. Then only the odd evening babysitting, which will be pre-arranged. Otherwise that time is yours to do as you please.
