I had an au pair when my son was little. He is now 31 but I am still friends with the au pair so it was a good experience. I now need someone to keep my husband company while I am at work. He is older than me and has Alzheimers. He needs company and reminding when to eat/drink/take tablets. He doesn't need specialist care yet. I work for 39 hours a week, sometimes morning and afternoon, other times afternoon and evening. I am an English teacher for adult learning so the au pair would have unlimited English lessons. I am also fluent in French.
The au pair would need to love animals as it would be part of the job. Duties would include looking after the animals, including 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 ponies, 2 goats and 2 chickens; preparing meals on the days when I am at work; light housework including ironing; being at home while I'm at work so my husband is not alone.
