We are a happy family of 4 living in the University city of Cambridge. We live in a 5 bedroom house in Cambridge, which is a safe and lovely city, 45 mins by train to central London. We are looking for an au pair to join our family at the end of August or beginning of September to tie in with school starting. We would like someone for a minimum of 6 months. We would love to find someone who would like to fit into our family life, and have fun exploring Cambridge, and enjoying life in England. We are friendly and supportive, and have had a number of people living in to help in the past. We are happy to show you around, and we hope you will enjoy your time with us!
The children attend school full time and are both creative, active and fun. They get on together really well. Their weekday routine involves leaving for school at 745am (for an 8am start) then returning at 330pm. After school they have snacks, do their homework (just simple spellings and maths for 15 minutes) and can then play, relax and then have dinner, bath and bed. We have a busy life but our family is very close. We love to cook and eat together and weekends are spent going swimming, playing tennis or visiting friends and family. You are free to join us at the weekends or take time to go out and visit the city. We can help with settling you and our family friends have au pairs too so it will be easy to introduce you to other girls working as au pairs in our area. You will have your own bedroom, with TV, a large bathroom/shower and wireless internet, bicycle, gym membership and a credit to your SIM card (in addition to your weekly pocket money). Our house is close to all the facilities to live and learn English in the UK. We can help you register for a course in English at the local adult education college. We are looking for someone who loves being with children and wants to be a part of their lives, enriching their learning and play experiences. We would like help with supervising homework, playing, crafting and baking with the children. Musical activities are encouraged and we live next to a big children's playground. The ability to drive is essential - though we will help you become comfortable with this when you arrive! Some babysitting will be required including occasionally putting the children to bed. We ask our au pairs to take care of things around the house related to the children - such as keeping the children's room tidy, changing their beds, keeping toys and books organised and cleaning up after cooking their meals. We have a cleaner to will do the main cleaning of the house.
