I am looking at my options currently. I have a childminder, but she is quite unreliable so investigating my alternatives. Ideally the au pair would be Spanish, so that they can converse in Spanish with my son and familiarise him with the language, at all other times there will be English spoken, as my Spanish is limited!
Term time: drop off and pick up from school, (ideally a driver is required) stay with son until I am home for approximately 2-3 hours per day 5 days a week. I currently don't have a spare vehicle but would need to get one as school is quite far away from home Holiday times 7 hours per day 5 days per week I get 6 weeks holiday per year so it would be useful if the au pairs holidays were taken at the same time, they usually coincide with school holidays Inset days: (where the school teachers don't work in term time) - 9 hours per day, no more than one day in a week, there are around 6 inset days per year My child has no diagnosed disabilities but I have been advised there are autistic traits, which are still being monitored. My child responds well to clears rules and routines, so would need an au pair who is self confident and exudes positive authority
