Hello We are a young family with twins - John-Paul and Elizabeth (aged 4). We live on a beautiful farm in the countryside in a village called Timsbury which is 5 minutes drive from Romsey in Hampshire. Our children love the outdoors, playing with their toys and arts and crafts. We have had three au pairs live with us, since the children were 1 and have loved the experience. Currently our au pair Camilla (from Norway) has been with us since August 2015 and will leave in August 2016 to become an air hostess. We are looking for someone to join our family and continue to look after the children when Camilla leaves. We are interested in finding somebody who loves children, is fun, organised, active and hard working. Ideally, we would like someone to start in early-mid August. You will have your own double bedroom, with built-in wardrobes, sink, dressing table, chest of draws, TV with DVD player and wifi access. Your room overlooks the farmyard (a classic English farm). We will provide you with a car to take the children to and from pre-school during term time. You will have use of the car for personal errands. We will also provide you with a bicycle if you prefer to use this! It is important that you can be independent, as although there are two pubs within walking distance, the village is quiet. Our nearest town, Romsey is 5 minutes drive, or 15 minutes cycle away, where there is a train station. Southampton, Winchester and Salisbury are all 20-25 minutes away from Romsey and London is approximately 1 hour by train.
We ask you to be kind and caring towards our children, and respect our family home. Currently, the children go to preschool on Monday and Tuesday (9-1) and Friday (9-4.30). We would ask you to get them dressed, give them breakfast and take and collect them from preschool, and look after them until 6pm. On Thursdays we would ask you to look after them all day. Currently, we have season tickets to a local farm - Long Down Dairy Farm, Hilliers (a local garden centre), and there are plenty of parks, libraries and lots of activities to do. On a Thursday morning, Camilla currently takes them to a dance class in Romsey which we would love you to continue taking them too. We would ask you to babysit up to 2 nights per week, with some light housework and cooking for the children. We are ideally looking for someone to start in early-mid August, to stay for a minimum of 9 months and up to 24 months. The children are due to start school in September 2017.
