Both my husband and I work full time as Police officers in London, we have hired nanny's and au pairs before and are looking for someone new to come and help us with the children and light household duties. We have 3 children (2 boys and a girl), a dog and a cat. The children are at school. We are active family who enjoy sports (football, rugby, karate and kickboxing), dancing (ballet and contemporary), going to the gym, for walks and music. I studied Psychology at university which was great fun. My husband is teaching himself to play the guitar and is really quite good! We have 3 children. Two boys aged 10 and 7 and a girl aged 4, all of whom are in full time education in a local school. We have had Au Pairs before (from France, Spain, the Czech Republic and Italy) so we know how daunting coming to a new country can be, we always endeavour to make you feel welcome and part of the family. It is really important to us that you are happy... it means our children will be happy too! One of our ex Au Pairs is still a fabulous friend who has visited us when we went on holiday near to her home country! She will always be welcome in our home, we hope you will be too!!!! :) We are a fun loving family, always being a little but silly and make each other laugh. Smiles and giggles are in abundance in our home! We are a Christian family who attend church regularly, however we are open to people of all faiths and respect others beliefs. We have a dog, Bella and a cat, Tilly. Due to the nature of our work (shifts) we are looking for someone to fit in part time around our shift pattern
We expect our au pair to take our children to and from school, help them with their reading and homework after school. Prepare and cook some meals. We like to try to eat healthily and prefer fresh food, we eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Undertake light housework such as laundry and ironing and generally keeping the house tidy. We would like our Au Pair to be fun and bubbly, but of a firm resolve. Our au pair will have plenty of free time to explore English culture. We hope our au pair will become part of our family and participate in everything we do.This means working variable days/hours each week. A roster is provided. At least two days off during the week, but can be up to 5 days off!!! Occasional mornings or afternoons off, always Saturday or Sunday off. We do require baby sitting some evenings but only very rarely. I am often able to take school holidays off so there is plenty of opperuntity to return to your home country and friends and family. You will be provided with your own double bedroom with en suite shower room. Full board to include all meals and bills, a mobile phone, cable television, DAB radio, access to Wi Fi, use of a bicycle. 75 pounds a week pocket money. We will orgainise a private TEFL English language tutor. We have helped previous Au Pairs set up UK bank accounts and gym memberships. We live near the city of Portsmouth on the South coast of England. It is about 1hr30 by train from London. There is lots to do in the city which you can get to by bus which includes museums, swimming pools, go karting, historic dockyards, designer shopping outlets, pubs, clubs and cafés. We are also near to the countryside and to the sea so lots of different things to see and do. My husband is one of 4 children and I have an older brother. They all live within an hour drive from us so we try to see them often. The children have 5 cousins who they love to play with. My parents live in rural suffolk in a beautiful typical olde English village, we try to visit regularly as it's a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside views.
