We are looking for an English speaking FEMALE LIVE-IN AU PAIR from October 2015 for 12 - 24 months Our ideal person is someone who speaks English either fluently or at a very high standard, kind, caring, happy, honest, responsible, hardworking, flexible and conscientious, after all we are trusting you with our most precious possessions - our 3 beautiful children, a boy aged 6 who attends School, girl aged 2 and a baby boy aged 8 months. Person looking for must have: - Experience with children/ babies and housework - Flexibility, be highly organised, energetic, kind, reliable - Have preference for a long-term job - Interest in children and their development About us: We are an English/ Indian/ Muslim family. Mother is on maternity leave until December and both Mother and Father are Lecturers. The children’s Grandmother also lives with us and will take partial responsibility of baby during the day with the Au pair. We are a very loving hands on parents, we all enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle. We live in Coulsdon/ Purley, a lovely area in South London. Close walk to shops and good transport to Croydon & Central London. We are very close to an excellent English language school as well where you can attend lessons during the day or evenings (Can arrange around the childcare but we are flexible to ensure you can attend).
Your accommodation: You will have your own excellent spacious bedroom and bathroom on the top floor of our home. You will have access to Wifi and a TV. It offers you privacy as we live on the 1st floor and ground floor. Your duties will include: - Monday to Friday 7.30am – 6.30pm. Weekends off, but with the occasional Saturday evening babysitting. Can arrange a couple of hours of ‘Free Time’ during the day as and when. - Helping the children get ready for the day/ school, their breakfast and getting dressed. - School drop off and pick up for the 6 year old. (Parents will help with drop off alongside their work commitments). School is 10 min walk from home, or can drive there. - Playing, feeding and generally looking after the baby and the 2 year old during the day. (Alongside with the Grandmother) - Encouraging the children’s learning and development by playing with them, doing homework, reading to them, doing fun activities, craft, baking and trips to the park etc - Preparing healthy balanced meals for the children, helping them eat and tidying up after mealtimes. - Bath and bedtime routine (with help from parents) - Helping with the children's laundry & ironing; keeping the kitchen clean, their play area and their bedroom tidy. What we offer: - £100 a week with food and accommodation. - Your own excellent bedroom, bathroom, Wifi and your own TV. - Weekends off aside from occasional Saturday evening babysitting (included.) - A happy and safe home to live in Requirements: - Live-in (essential) - Minimum commitment of 12 months, to be reviewed after the first 2 months - We are warm loving family but we also value our family time in the evenings and weekends, so an independent person would suit us well. - Strong command of English language, preferably fluent (essential) - Previous relevant experience as an au pair or other with young children and babies and, confidence at looking after more than one child (essential); - Energetic and playful (essential) - Willing to do light cleaning and tidying just like a flatmate would (essential) - Prepare healthy meals for the children - Conscientious and proactive person who can manage their own time and duties alongside keeping our children safe (essential) - 1-2 evenings per week babysitting - CRB check (preferred but not essential) - First Aid certificate - Non-smoker or non drinker - this is not negotiable - Preferably with a clean EU Driving Licence. Car & Insurance can be provided to do school drop off & pick up or taking children to activities/ after school clubs. - Holidays can coincide with our holidays during the Easter & Summer term time breaks. (Ideal to go home during the summer break, for a few weeks.
