We are a family living in Lymington (flat in London). We are looking for an au pair to join us to help with our two kids, Raphael (2) and Olivia (4). We are looking for a Polish, French or German girl, who has experience, a clean driving licence and who really likes dogs (we have a 12 week old cockerpoo puppy). My husband and I are filmmakers and have just returned with our kids from 4 months filming abroad. Olivia starts school in September and our au pair Ula is returning to Poland after a year with us. We are looking for a bright, cultured; educated au pair who likes city and country life equally, loves children and wants to improve their english. They will get a chance to live in Lymington and every few weeks explore London, spending weekends in our Camden Town canal side flat. Olivia and Raphael are being raised speaking English, German and Polish which is why we are attached to those nationalities but we welcome all cultures into our home - the most important thing is finding the right person, how we all get on as a family, how they are with the children and vice versa.
Job will be less than 30 hours per week as Raphael is in nursery all day tuesday - thursday and Olivia is starting reception class at our local primary school. We would require a degree of flexibility as to which 2 days off per week are taken. My husband and I work from home but are obliged to go to London overnight once a week which means we need to find a highly responsible, intuitive au pair who is capable of being in loco parentis - picking kids up from school/nursery, feeding and bathing them, putting them to bed etc. We would expect the au pair to help with kids' laundry, tidy up after them, prepare their meals on a regular basis, and help walk the dog! We are happy to provide an English course plus £400 month pocket money, mobile phone and travel to and from the UK.
