Hello! We're a friendly, happy family living in north London. We've got a lovely setup for an au-pair: a modern, large, private room with its own sink and shower. Our house is in an area that's quiet but very close to town (30mins to london west end by tube). We've had two fabulous au pairs over the past 2 years, so we know it can work! We're looking for someone bright, responsible and conscientious. We need 2-3 hrs cleaning / day and for you to pick the kids up from school, be with them and make supper 4 days/wk. We generally need babysitting 1 or 2 times wk. We're a genuinely welcoming family with two professional, hands on parents and a large extended family nearby. If you are great with kids and have a positive attitude and plenty of common sense then please be in touch.
Light cleaning each day usually from about 9-11.30am: tidying, putting on clothes wash, putting out rubbish, ironing and sorting clothes. Twice a week a more thorough clean: dusting, hoovering and mopping kitchen floor, cleaning bathrooms, hoovering and dusting bedrooms. Every two weeks, cleaning fridge or oven. Childcare: helping to get kids ready for school in the morning and taking them in (5 min walk) if needed, picking up kids from school at 3.30 on Mon, Tuesday, Wednesday (sometimes) and Thursday. Hanging out, playing and chatting and getting their supper ready. Sometimes taking the kids to after school clubs, swimming and friends houses. Clearing up after their supper. My husband does not work Wednesdays so tends to be with the children and I do not work Fridays so I pick the kids up from school and look after them on a Friday. Babysitting - depends on the week. Sometimes we need 3 nights babysitting / week. Sometimes none at all! We mostly go out once the kids are in bed. But there will be some times when we ask you to do bedtime. Weekends are almost always your own unless we need an evening babysitting. We very rarely need babysitting more than 1 weekend night. Wednesday and Friday afternoons are great times for you to study, socialise or just relax.
