We are a happy family made up of myself (Alison), Luca (my Italian husband whose family are from Prato), our 3 children (Giorgio (9), Edoardo (7) and Matilda (4)) and our 2 cats, Non and Ginge. We live in North West London (Queens Park in zone 2). Our children get on well and normally play together nicely (although of course there are always a few arguments which you will have to resolve.
All our children are in school during the day but our au pair will have to take them to school 5 days a week as well as pick them up. As I only work 3 days a week, after the school pick up on Thursdays and Fridays our au pair will not need to look after the children or do anything else. On Mondays to Wednesdays, the au pair will have to look after the children until 7pm or thereabouts (maybe arranging play dates with other children) and help my eldest son with homework. We normally require you to start work at 8am but once you have dropped the kids at school each day, you will be free until 3pm. Obviously during the school holidays, you will need to look after them 3 full days (taking them out to museums and other places) but you won't need to do anything on a Thursday and Friday during those periods. The reason we need someone who can drive is because Giorgio goes to a school a few miles away and on some days you will need to take him to or pick him up from school. We can arrange a driving lesson or 2 so that you are confident driving in the UK and with the route. We have a cleaner so we are not expecting you to do the cleaning but we would like you to do the washing and generally keep the house tidy on Mondays to Wednesdays. I'm sure there are lots of other things I have forgotten to write here but hopefully you get an idea of the sort of person we are looking for.
