We are a family with 3 children. Carlos and Andrés, they are 6 and 8 years old, and little Elena( 5 years old). We are a very close family. We like to be with our children and spend time with them. The boys are always playing. They are interested in anything from nature and animals. They are learning to play the piano and the guitar at the private music school. We live in a fully bilingual environment. We have had another au pair and we like you I always speak with the children and with us in English This will be our language to communicate at home with you . In order to help us with the language, we have been fortunate to welcome this au pair for 3 years. If you like languages and children this can be a great opportunity. OUR FAMILY We are a family that likes to discover new things with children. We are always making plans for the weekend so we can see something new. We are a family very united, we base our relationship on respect and we try to raise our children from tolerance and equality among all. We are both doctors, but we have managed to ensure that the children are always with one of us during the afternoons. They are never alone, so during the course we can participate in their activities and games. OUR HOUSE We live in a house with a little swimming pool and a small garden area. The neighborhood is quiet. The house is large, the main floor has a living room and kitchen. The upper floor with three bedrooms. One of them is the room where the three children sleep together. The room that we leave our au pairs is near the garage , with a wardrobe , bathroom and a little window. It hasn´t view but it´s a quiet room. OUR CITY Granada is a beautiful city in the south of Spain, full of life through its streets. The city has a lot of history. Here is the Alhambra, an Arab palace considered by many a wonder of humanity. The streets and gardens that surround it give shape to a wonderful city with a mixture of cultures, religions and people. The city is dynamic thanks to the university, it always receives many students from all parts of the country and abroad. It offers a wide variety of cultural and leisure activities. It is at the foot of Sierra Nevada, a great mountain where you can enjoy the largest ski resort in southern Europe, just 30 minutes from the city. Not only is the mountain close, the sea is at the same distance and there are beautiful towns to visit on the coast, making Granada a great destination to visit, both in the mountains and its beaches.
Our next au pair must spend time with the children. We would like someone nice, kind, friendly and listen to them. It is very important that she wants to spend time with the children. The way of communication at home will be English. We will communicate in English with you. Spanish will not be used with children. If you intend to learn Spanish, we can have a conversation with you when the children are away, or you have the opportunity to go to a school to study Spanish in the morning (our last au pairs that have come have done so) so you have opportunity to meet new people and learn our language while the children are in school. For us it is very important that the person who comes home has the necessary resources to handle 8 and 6, 5year old children. They are very easy-going children, they love meeting new people, talking, teaching their games, their books. It is true that there may be some moment of disconnection and they want to play their games and their rules but, if you manage to win their attention and trust they will be happy to follow you. During the months of July and August we host a 10 years old child from Sahara, so we´ll be a family with 4 children. The weekends will be free for you except If one day we are on call ( It isn´t frequent) and need you or if we take a short trip and need you to help my mother that she will be at home during these days. We appreciate the collaboration in the housework( especially if there is a day when one of the two is not working and will take care of the children), since we are all from the same family and we help each other. You will receive some money for your expenses( we gave the last au pair 60 euro per week) and of course we are totally open to any need you may have. The important thing is to have a nice experience al together. We do not want to leave anyone out but the truth is that it would be very difficult for our daily organization to have a vegetarian or vegan au pair at home. We accept everyone's ways of living but we could not please and share this type of food as it would be an extra effort for us.
