We are a family of four,with my husband and two daughters aged 10 and 5 years.My husband and I are from south India and the children were born here.We are both doctors .We sometimes work long days and nights but usually one of us comes home by 6pm. My elder daughter has autism.She can communicate her basic needs in simple sentences and can do most of her daily routine by herself but may require prompting . She goes to a special school and the transport is provided by local authority.My younger one walks to a nearby school. We live in highlands village,Winchmore hill,London.There is easy access to public transport in the form of buses.The nearest tube station is Oakwood located at about 15 minutes walk. My husband leaves for work by 7am and I leave by 7.30.I return around 6pm but will be late on long shifts say 9.30pm,.There will be a few night shifts every 6 months and some weekends.But myself or my husband will be at home at night and weekends.I work part time and do 3 or 4 days a week. My elder daughter gets up at 7am.She needs to prompted to be up from bed although she will be awake and this can take 10-15 min.She is picked up by 8am by which time she would have eaten breakfast.She comes back at 4pm approximately,has a snack and drink and then has a shower.On some days she has home tutoring .Otherwise she can be prompted to paint,do arts and crafts or read a book or do some worksheets. My younger daughter is woken up by 7.30,after the elder one goes down to have breakfast.She leaves for school by 8.30 by walking.She needs to be picked up at 3.20pm.After coming back,s
The main expectation is childcare .You will be expected to help the children to get ready in the mornings. Before we leave to work we will help as much as possible but may not always find the time .Yo will be expected to get the school runs for the younger one in the morning and evening.However I work part time and when I am at home I would prefer to do it whenever possible .After the children are home in the evening and snacj /drink given they should be prompted to engage in meaningful activities .TV time is minimal at our house. Thus the person will be free from 9am in the mornings after school drop off to pick up at 3.20pm.She should stay with the children till one of us arrives at approx. 6pm but may be later . This is relaxed when one of us is at home . There may also be light housework such as hoovering the sitting room and kitchen when needed,and folding dry clothes away. We are very friendly and open family and are willing to make adjustments to suit the au pair.If there is any expectations from you , we are willing to discuss that and keep an open mind .You will have her own room with the shower/toilet shared with us. Pay will be decent and is negotiable. The au pair will be expected not to smoke and not to bring in guests or boyfriends. .
